A COSMIC program known as Skymap Star Catalog and Data Base provides a very accurate star map. The data assists Perkin Elmer Corporation in designing an optical system of proper size and field of view, and confirms the design integrity of star sensors which are very accurate and represent a major advance in optical technology. Perkin Elmer is the prime contractor for the optical telescope assembly of NASA's space telescope.
