Bank Terminals

SCI Systems, Inc., under a NASA contract advanced bank terminal technology. Teller transaction terminals are part of advanced, computerized financial system that offers high efficiency in bank operations. Key to systems efficiency is multiplexing, which is simultaneous transmission of large amounts of data over a single transmission link at very high speed. A small multiplex data bus" interconnects all the terminals and a central computer which stores information on clients' accounts. Data bus replaces the maze of wiring that would be needed to connect each terminal separately and it affords greater speed recording transactions. This idea was adapted from NASA's space shuttle."
